“It is easy to get bogged down in the darkness of our circumstances. Yet some of our greatest accomplishments are birth in affliction.” (Shelly Esser)
Afflictions brings with it many challenges having to look deep within to pull up the courage to continue. Reaching for the strength and perseverance just to make it through a day. Sitting in the place of affliction no one can imagine what it takes to even make it to another day. At some point, whatever the condition, it must not take away the joy of being productive or creative. When affliction comes sitting at the door, things can be put on hold because the pain is too great to carry on. We start looking for some kind of release from the suffering. Trying not to let the heart get captive by everything that comes along with it.
Affliction brings with it discouragement, a continual hurt, sometimes even depression. But in spite of the condition, there is a reaching called determination and motivation, bringing in the courage to not be discouraged. Against overwhelming circumstances, the commitment is to become a trailblazer. It is easy to throw a woe is me in the darkness only to keep us bogged down in the circumstances. No matter how painful the situation, focus on what you can do; embracing the opportunities that you still have.
Don’t spend all your time looking at the condition look for ways to see the place as meaningful. The real test comes when you can still go on even though everything in life has been taken away. Affliction births great things, could it be that the circumstance we are in is to bring about more greatness in our lives? In the place of affliction, it can bring about trailblazing, making something beautiful that seems so ugly.
