Leave The Porch and Come Take a Ride on The Ark!

The porch is a spot to kick back and relax on a good day. It is a shelter to enter into the house. Some porches have columns and a covered area. There are front, side, and back porches some will call a deck. Some are enclosed in called sunrooms. Porches have many styles, shapes or forms. But they all have some things in common, the roof, sides and entryway. Porches give space between the outside and the inside of your living quarters. The roof protects, the sides are a covering, the entry way goes up to where the heart is. As the saying goes, “the home is where the heart is. “The porch makes a great opportunity to sit down and commune, have a little talk with God, family or friends. Expressing yourself, being creative, pulling out ideas to conquer. It is time to take your convenance, kickback, and comfort to the next level. It is time to get off the porch. Clarity gets us off the porch and invites us to take a ride on the ark. We first have to get an understanding about the ride we are about to take.

The term ark is a large boat built by Noah. Also, the covenant that was housed in the tabernacle and later in the temple. Noah was instructed to build the three-level boat. This large boat became the home of Noah, his family, and the animals during the flood. The ark is a symbol of salvation and preservation. All those who under God’s judgments were destroyed by the flood, those that were in the ark were saved. God remembered them and showed mercy. This is called the rebirth; God charge them to be fruitful and multiply. Moses was placed in a basket when his life was in danger from the decree of Pharaoh against the Hebrew boys. A tiny basket carrying a baby, verses a giant ark for a man and some animals The symbol of salvation and preservation.

Each one played a significant role in the turning point in history. They both fulfilled the promise of the covenant. They both had to go through the water. The water that signified judgment in Noah’s era, has been transformed through the work of Jesus. Cleansing and resurrecting as believers are reconciled to God into the new birth. The ark is the most sacred possession, it is the reminder of God’s covenant. The most important feature of the covenant is the mercy seat. The ark of the covenant is a sign of the truth that God mercifully comes to his people, forgiving and leading them to the promise land. “Faith led Noah to listen to God. Through faith Noah obeyed and received God’s approval.

Just as God instructed Noah to build the ark, He also commanded Moses to build an ark. But this time it was not a large boat; it was a golden chest sanctuary which was to be used for worship. “Two cherubim with wings facing each other” were on top, this was the mercy seat. The ark of the covenant represented God’s presence; the ark allows people to come off the porch and take a ride. Just as the ark was with Joshua, the walls of Jericho came crashing down. We should be dancing as David danced because of the presences of God.

The porch protects, has a seating area, is a covering, and has an entryway. The ark and the porch have similarities, the only difference is the seating, the ark has a seat of mercy while the porch has a seat of relaxation. It also protects, is a covering, and has an entryway. Now that you have clarity about the porch and the ark. Leave the porch and come and take that invitation, hop aboard and take that ride on the ark near the mercy seat.

My name is Daphne Mills, writing was something I did all the time. Not realizing that it was going to turn into this moment. As a person who loves God, I decided to step out on faith. I am glad I did, because that step brought me to Milo first one of a series. And this platform Grieving: Together We Rise. Come join me on this journey seeing where it's going to lead. I learned with a new outlook everything will become beautiful in its own timing. With a little change in the way we see things it can bring about wonderful things.
