The shofar has been blown; the chains of the slave has fallen off. A shofar is a trumpet that is blown, made from a ram’s horn. To express the cry of the soul. It is also a calling of spiritual warfare. There are many things the shofar symbolizes. The one that I will be discussing, is going to war on the adversary who is oppressing you, to sound the alarm to go and fight. (Numbers 10:9). The blast of the shofar representing the shout of God’s victory over the enemy. A slave is someone who is held captive, controlled, subject to another. Restricting the person where they are not free to leave. While the exact number is difficult to say, there are numerous people living in slavery. Many people, places, and things are coercing and controlling those who have become slaves to them.
“Chains are interconnected links that work together to serve as a means to transmit power and motion.” There are many uses for chains, usually used in products that involve lifting, some in bicycles, transmissions, or machinery. There are many types of chains, roller chain, block chain, or flat chain, but we are going to focus on the ones that is used to power a whole entire human being. Every human has been in some type of bondage in their lives, becoming slaves to a variety of things. “Familiarize yourselves with the chains of bondage, and you are preparing your own limbs to wear them.” (Abraham Lincoln).
The bible tells us that we are in a battle of spiritual warfare which can lead to bondage. Ephesians 6:10-12 states we must put on the full armor of God so that we can stand against the devil’s schemes. We need to stand strong in God’s armor of protection not our own. Picking up the sword of the Spirt which is God’s word. Praying that the Spirit will guide us through what every it is that we have found ourselves in. Praying that the chains of the stronghold be broken, and we be set free. Praying to see the good work that is inside of us. After the prayer we must believe that we have been set free and no longer slaves to whatever that stronghold is.
Reap from the benefits that have come into your life, do not go back and wrap that chain back around your neck (Romans 8:15). It has been loosened and the chains have fallen off. Stand firm don’t be burdened by the yoke of slavery again. If you have been set free, you are free indeed (John 8:36). We get weary when this thing called expectation has not been met. The pressure becomes too great, overwhelming and we conform being lead away from the plan for our lives. We must find courage, find balance and set before us boundaries to aim for the purpose that is upon our lives.
With everything that is happening in this world, it can get very stressful, worrisome, fearful and anxious. These can become your best friends. Sitting next to these friends can cloud the mind and bring burdens to the heart. There is a promise that has been given, if we trust in the one that can sustain us. We can let these so-called friends go. Replace them with the peace that passes all understanding. Then we can guard our hearts and minds, putting our focus on the one who can provide. Break free, declare that you are victorious an overcomer over everything that pulled you away from you. The shofar has been blown; the chains of the slave has fallen off.
Victory over strong holds is yours rejoice in it. We can overcome anything that tries to hinder us. Just as Jesus overcame the grave. The battle has already been won, we must equip ourselves and charge into battle stepping out in faith. As we arm ourselves with the rock and fortress, yet if we stumble or lose our way, our deliverer can pick us up and bring comfort. His love and power have no chains attached to it, so why do you have on the attachments? God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. No matter how deep in the pit you have dug yourself. His arm is not short to hear your cries to deliver. Rest assured that he will march before you, take hold to the shield of faithfulness and find the victory you seek. Break every chain that binds you, remove the distractions so you can pass on through to the victory in Christ Jesus. This means war, the Shofar has been blown.
