Weeping can tarry for a night, and it does. For some many nights seem very long before morning comes. But morning always come to get us through other nights. Morning removes the weeping and wrap us in joy. Joy will have the final say, the night will end, and the morning will come. Rest assured in this promise. Get clothe with gladness, sing a song, do a little dance. Weeping is different than crying. Weeping is associated with deep emotional pain or grief. it evolves uncontrollable sobbing. The person can even hyperventilate. Weeping tends to be more intense and last longer than crying. Crying is shorter, less intense.
King David had seen it all and was no stranger to ups and downs, and sorrows. But in spite of everything, he was referred to as the man after God’s own heart. David kept his eyes on the Lord. When the goings got tough, he cried out to God in the frustrations. David proved that we can be a warrior. In the joyous times, hopeless matters, and all in between, He poured out his emotions in dance, music and writings of poetry. We can find something in us that can bring us joy. Even in our darkest hour we can see joy in the morning. For someone who struggled, had a lifetime of heartache he knew that no night last forever. He knew the sun would rise, and in the rising of the sun the blessing and favor would come upon him. He had seen it time and time again, because he had his eyes fixed on on the Lord.
You may be in pain, struggling, uncomfortable. But in the midst of it all the hopelessness, discouragement, the affliction, unable to see the mornings. Go and stand by the riverbanks let your roots run deep into the waters of the Psalms. Let him turn your mourning into dancing…, the Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. Yea, though I walk through the valley… Thy rod and thy staff comfort me (Psalms 23). Again, I say weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. Nothing last always unless we will it too, let the morning come.
