Be Careful with the Words You Speak

God holds us accountable for the words that come out of our mouths. We must be careful with what comes out of our mouths, we will be judge for every word. For every idle word that proceeds out of our mouth. The tongue though just a small member can bring great harm. An offensive word could change the course of a persons life. A unguarded word can hurt, but a kind word can heal. Many have trained wild animals, but have a hard time taming the wild beast in their mouths. The tongue can become a savage beast at times. All kinds of foul, filthy words come rolling out that little member. we must find the leash and shorten it to not harm people. We must not tear people apart with our words.

We can polish the outside appearance, but the mouth can reveal our character. The mouth speaks what is given by the heart (Mark 7:20-23, Proverbs18:21, Luke 6:45). The tongue can bring life or death, so choose your words wisely. Let them be a testimony of the grace and peace that is within. Words carry weight, we must guard our words as well as our hearts. The judgment seat will come and every idle word said, will be judged. Let your speech always be gracious seasoned with salt (Colossians 4:6) that way you will know how to answer a person. It was said of the Lord Jesus: “No man ever spoke like this man.” He spoke in spirit and truth. Jesus only said what the Father say, and He only did as the Spirit of God instructed. The Lord Jesus subjected himself to the will of the Father.

He demonstrated that whoever is subjected to the Holy Spirit will walk and talk in accordance to the will of the God. Christ’s word was gracious and seasoned with salt. He spoke in love and never compromised His speech. The words of our mouth comes from the thoughts of our hearts. When our hearts are focused on Jesus, in fellowship with God, and being led by the Spirit, our words will not embarrass, hurt or humiliate another. We will speak only love and truth. We will know how to respond to people. A life that is seeking Christ with all their hearts, A life submitted to the leads of the Holy Spirit, a life lived with ears open to hear God’s words, and the eyes to see the truth. Will be a life that speaks with a gracious speech and it will be seasoned with salt.

My name is Daphne Mills, writing was something I did all the time. Not realizing that it was going to turn into this moment. As a person who loves God, I decided to step out on faith. I am glad I did, because that step brought me to Milo first one of a series. And this platform Grieving: Together We Rise. Come join me on this journey seeing where it's going to lead. I learned with a new outlook everything will become beautiful in its own timing. With a little change in the way we see things it can bring about wonderful things.
