Romans 8:14 tells, “For as many as led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. A truth about God is that He wants to led His people. The question is, will you be led by the Spirit in all you do? The following scenario brings us to an outdated map to find the way. Following this method gets you lost in the maze. Then we have to look for familiar landmarks, a street sign, anything that works to put us in the right direction. We have an idea of what to do, make a left turn but it provide an inaccurate way. The next idea to make a right turn, thinking now this has to be the right way. When this don’t go well, a lot of suggestions fill the thoughts: “I think it is that way,” “no, I am pretty sure it is back this way,” “maybe I need to ask someone?” “No I will figure it out in a minute.”
The minute hand advance while the gas gage decreases, and we are no where near our intended destination. The tension is mounting, will we get where we are going? Fear whispers that this might be a dangerous part of town. Desperation won over, and the weariness of frustration makes a chose to flag someone down for help. Seeing that you are out of your element, the driver told you to follow because he is heading your way. The tension melted, the fears faded away, and peace took over. What changed? You still did not know where you were or where to go. There was a difference now that some one is leading you. The one who did know where they were, and did know where you should go. The person’s knowledge made the difference.
As we journey through life, many times we are uncertain about the way we should go. Questions haunt us on every side. Thankfully, we can go to the one who knows all and will direct us if we just follow His leading. The Holy Spirit is here to help guide us through life and into glory. God knows we do not know our own way. Jeremiah 10:23 says, “It is not in man that walks to direct his steps.” Left to our own direction, we will most surely make choices that lead to heartache , hurt, and chaos. All who have lived have seen these three, come up in their lives and in others. we all have been in the similar situations. Gratefully we have a God who does not leave us in that dilemma.
We have a assurance that He Himself, will be our guide through life if we put our trust in him. Following Him we need not to fear or question the direction He points us in. We can be assured that he will steer us in the right direction. Often times we may not understand His direction. Because His ways are above our ways. If we follow His Spirit as it leads, blessings will follow. As we journey through life, God orchestrate our steps to place us in positions full of opportunities. In the slow line of the grocery store , in traffic so you can be in the right place at the right time. He places you in position to be able to minister or to serve another.
Peter did not just become aware of the lame man’s condition, He was led by the Holy Spirit to act in faith. Do not hesitate, be intimidated ,timid, or bashful when you encounter someone. You never know what God might have already been doing in the person life. You don’t know what he is going to do in their lives that he led you to. If God trust you enough to led you to the hungry heart , you must trust him enough to put your faith into action. He is leading you to use you effectively in His glory. Each child of God must commit daily to being a follower of God who leads. We must listen faithfully as He directs our way. When we do, we will be positioned for a safe passage to a secure destination, and empowered to be effective servants of our Lord along the way. Will you listen?
