Victory Through The Spirit

“To be spiritually minded is life and peace. Only God’s spirit can produce lasting victory in our lives, Let’s live in the victory through the power of the Holy spirit. There are seasons of conflict were we have to defend ourselves against the enemies. Forces may attack us early in the morning, or any time lest expected. Hitting the primary targets in our lives. Collectively it seems that we are out numbered. Plus they are armed with the latest military equipment, all kinds of artillery. The outcome seem to go in the favor of the oppressor. But God has other plans for His people. God’s people launches a counterattack with fasting, praying, reading the word, worshiping and praising lifting up the name of Jesus. They had pushed the enemy forces back far enough it called for a cease fire. With the surprise attack it brought on victory for God’s people.

God intervenes on the behalf of His people in conflict. By the power of the Holy spirit He snatches the victory from the hands of the enemies in defeat time after time. Just when the situation looks hopeless, a victorious outcome is put in affect by the moving of the Holy Spirit. We are held hostage by our weaknesses. It is not just that our flesh struggles in pleasing God; it cannot do so. The flesh wars against the spirit, and the spirit against the flesh; These are contrary to one another: so that you cannot do the things you would (Galatians 5:17). Since the carnal mind cannot be subject to God and the flesh is completely contrary to the Spirit, how are we suppose to have victory in living for God? Romans 8:9 tells, “But you are not in the flesh, but the Spirit…” Nothing empowers us to overcome the flesh except the Spirit of God. Mortification comes to the flesh, and we began to live after the Spirit only when we submit to God’s leadership.

Jesus humanity submitted to God’s plan in the garden of Gethsemane. He is a perfect example of fighting against the flesh and letting the Spirit take control. He already warned the disciples that he was going to suffer many things and be killed (Matthew 16:21). Knowing what he was about to face, his flesh battle with the Spirit to pull back from the horrors he was about to face. The scourge, thorns, and nails, and beatings all deposited their agony on Him. Just as it would each and everyone of us. He was not exempt from the pain or fear that the impending arrival would bring. His flesh desired to be delivered from the suffering. Jesus waged the war between flesh and Spirit saying, “Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine be done” (Luke 22: 41-42). Jesus submitted. IF He had chosen to yield to the flesh and reject the will of His Father, redemption would have never occurred.

In this passage we find the answer to the struggles with the flesh we face also. “Not my will, but thine, be done,” this is the key to living a life of victory over the flesh by the power of the Holy Spirit. Only if we choose to follow God’s will, not our own. God’s will is invested in every chose we make everyday that affect our spiritual direction. The spiritual battle is fierce. The enemy of the soul does not give you a cushion when he starts to throw his darts. When entering the war we have to guard our minds, so we want be taken into captivity. There will be a conflict raging in us and around us. We must live fully of the Holy Spirit and under His direction and Lordship to experience the victories as we are passing through this world. Every demonic enemy, every fleshly foe must bow down to the power of the Holy Spirit.

The enemy tempts us to sin we give in to the temptation, then Satan points his finger. Declare us guilty, and worthless. looking for punishment against us for the action that he suggested. As the children of God, we must not embrace the lies. When we do then we have isolated ourselves from the Father who wants pure fellowship with His children. We can either accept the devil’s lies and continue to live in bondage. Or we can believe the word of God and live victorious over sin in freedom. Satan lie, but God calls, which voice will you submit to? There are times we fill weak and defeated, but in Christ, if we lean on the Holy Spirit we are strong and victorious. Walking comes second nature to us as humans, It is a natural function. No one throws confetti or cheers every time we walk down the street. Walking is normal for a human. So walking in the Spirit should be just as normal. A child of God just simply walks. As a baby you had to learn how to walk. The same as walking in the Spirit, you are a babe first then grow into maturity.

Battling in this spiritual war, we are walking in a world full of chaos and confusion. Where some is finding remedies through the flesh by a chemical solution or by other means. God has offered us a better way. When we put the Holy Spirit as the guide of our thinking, peace becomes the result instead of chaos and confusion. Victory over depression, discouragement, and anxiety through the baptism of the Holy Spirit (Romans 14: 17).The choice is ours. We can continue to live a defeated life, or decide to live in victory. No child of God should live in darkness. We have the victory over the darkness by the power of the Holy Spirit. This should spark a fight to the finish, this is proof of will and stamina. Beyond the sheer length of the bout, this requires that we endure no matter how many times we get knocked down. We are the victors, the one that endures till the end will be crowned.

No matter the blows that Satan throws, we need to choose to continue to fight the battles of life. The outcome is already won. With the strength of the Lord we can rise back up on our feet. No matter how long it takes, no matter how many bruises we bear, get up from the canvas and shout out to the opponent. Micah 7:8, “Do not gloat against me, O my enemy! Though I have fallen, I will arise… the Holy spirit carries us beyond our own power. Even though we may be battered fiercely and mercilessly. We can stand assuredly that With the Holy Spirit we can get back up again and win the fight.
