Webster tells us that worship is “to regard with great respect, honor, or devotion. Worship shows adoration, a feelings of love without question. Love for God should show in our worship for Him. We should worship Him with our whole heart. Revelation and knowledge and understanding of whom you worship brings satisfaction. A fulfilling in the presence of God, the one who we are worshiping brings truths and greater revelations. Worship quickens the conscience; feed the mind with the truth; purify the beauty of insight; open the heart; and make us want to surrender to his will; the balm for our self-centeredness.
In Matthew 19:16-22 a story is told of one who came to Jesus He was a young and rich. In a attempt to show Jesus he knew Him and had learned of Him, he called Him Master. The young man asked the question, “What must he do to inherit eternal life?” The young man made It clear that he had obeyed the ten commandments. Then Jesus asked him to sell everything he owned and follow Him, the young man could not do it, for his riches was great. There are somethings we choose to not leave behind, like the young rich guy it will cost us the relationship with Jesus we seek after. We have to come to the realization, if the path we are own does not bring fulfillment or growth in our relationship with God. We must leave everything to get the change, and it will bring changes with new revelations.
Are you willing to leave everything behind and worship God? Leaving the old life in itself is a act of worship. Present yourself as a gift unto God. Bring Him the rest of your life. This is worship, leave your old life behind and submit, bring Him your faith, desires, hopes and dreams. Put your self in His hands. “Come up out of the fiery furnace and let your spirit soar with gratitude. No gratitude brings barrenness – but a heavy heart lifts on the wings of praise and worship.” Sometimes we are like the wise men who brought gifts; and sometimes we are like the shepherds who left behind their sheep to come to Jesus. Either way, let us choose to just come to Him everyday to worship him with our whole hearts.
