An angle is formed when two straight lines meet at a common end point. The common point of contact is called the vertex of an angle. A vertex is a corner of an angle, the point where two lines or sides meet. There are different types of angles: Acute angles, obtuse angles, a right angle, a straight angle a reflex angle, interior and exterior angles, complementary and supplementary angles. In life, angle measurements can be applied by constructing buildings, bridges, houses, monuments etc. Athletes, carpenters, and artists use angles to complete their work. Even clocks use angles to show the time with the minute hand.
Matthew 18:20 “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.” This is the assurance when people gather together in Jesus’s name, He would be in the midst of them. When we gather together in the name of Jesus, we will experience more and more of his presence and the blessing that comes along with it; there is an assurance. When we have been brought very low and then helped, sorely wounded and then healed, cast down and raised again, have given up all hope, and then been suddenly snatched from danger, and placed in safety; and when these things have been repeated to us, we learn to trust the word and power of God.
We must go through numerous hardships, but we have the assurance that he will be with us. Trails come to test our faith, to prove it, to strengthen it, and to refined it. James 1:2-3 tells us, “Count it all joy my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness.” Paul tells us, “We rejoice in our sufferings because it produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope” (Romans 5:3-4). This is for discipline that we have to endure. For what son is there whom a father does not discipline?
Peter promised Jesus, he would never deny him only hours before he did. We need to realize how weak our faith is. We don’t realize how proud and self-reliant we are. It is the fiery trails that apply the heat to our faith and cause the dross of unbelief, fear, anxiety, anger, jealousy, bitterness, selfishness, to rise to the surface. When we see these things in us and see our helplessness to be strong on our own, it pushes us to search out Christ’s promise to us. This is what God wants. It is the various kinds of pressing, painful exposing trials that teach us to trust in Christ for everything, to live by faith. God’s word is true He cannot lie he will do what he says he would do. Jesus paid it all, you can rest assure on the finished work of Jesus. Our debt is paid in full. Remember an angle meet at a common end point. Let’s meet with the assurance God is offering and learn from the trials that come to test our faith.
