Stop Living Your Life, and Live The Life Of The Calling.

Put off the old conversation of the old self, and be renewed in the spirit of the mind; and put on the new man, after which God created in righteousness and true holiness (Ephesians 4:22-24). When we are in our natural sin state, we are fit for nothing. But when God saves, he changes us into something entirely new. Through his spirit, he equips us for serving him. He gives us a new identity, a new function. The change God brought in our lives, is for the good and for his glory. Now, you must stop living your life, and live the life of your calling. You now have a new relationship to the world in which you live. We must put off the old man and put on the new man in accordance to the calling. Let us listen to these vital truths, which are foundational.

Number 1: We must put the world ways behind us. We are lifeless apart from Christ. We must remove ourselves from the way we once were, apart from Christ. Faith in Christ must be meet with a change in lifestyle. A change from the way we once behaved. We must stop living our lives, and live the life of the calling. Live our life in a way to glorify God. As a part of the world system we are alienated from God. Being in Christ, we have become part of his kingdom.

Number 2: We will get pressured to go back, and walk in the old way. But remember walk worthy of the calling which you have been called. The way a person thinks way heavy on the way he/she acts. our efforts must materialize into something worthwhile. There must be light of our understanding not darkness. We must not fail to produce something with lasting eternal value. Let’s talk about the foundation of man’s thinking. What man/woman, base his/her thinking on, determines what the results will be. To come to Jesus in faith, is to come from death to life.

From condemnation to justification, from sin to sanctification, and form ignorance to wisdom. Jesus is truth, and you cannot come to him without changing your thinking. This is true repentance: By changing your mind and come to see things the way God see them. We must come to the teacher. Let’s learn the things of Christ: The old man, the old self has it’s mind set on the flesh. The new man, the new self, is the inner man who has his mind set on the spirit. Our attitude and actions should be, to put off and what to put on. We should therefore walk in newness of life, manifesting the work of the Spirit of God in and through us. It is by His power that we are both motivated and enabled to live in a way that pleases God.

Number 3: Culture says, “What we think and how we act, is the result of our past. It is only by understanding our past that we can live as we should in the present. In other words, the past controls the present.” It is not what we were that matters, but what we are. So let us ponder what we are, in Christ, and not what we were without Him. . What we feel is often a far cry from what is true, and even from what we believe. Faith, as I understand it, calls upon men to act on the truth God has revealed in His Word, not on how we feel.

Abraham did not “feel” like leaving his relatives to go to an unknown place, but he obeyed God. Neither did he feel like offering up his son, Isaac, but he was willing to obey. Our Lord did not feel like going to the cross of Calvary, but He obeyed the will of His Father. Let us act on what we know to be the truth as revealed in the Word of God, more than on how we happen to feel. As a rule, faith acts on God’s Word and disregards feelings.

And finally, number 4: If we would desire to have our minds renewed, then we must find God’s thoughts and immerse ourselves in them. His thoughts have been recorded in the Bible, His inspired written Word.  Let us become so saturated with His Word that we begin to reflect His ways, His values, His goals, His methods. Stop living your life and live the life of your calling. This is the renewing of the mind which God calls for.

My name is Daphne Mills, writing was something I did all the time. Not realizing that it was going to turn into this moment. As a person who loves God, I decided to step out on faith. I am glad I did, because that step brought me to Milo first one of a series. And this platform Grieving: Together We Rise. Come join me on this journey seeing where it's going to lead. I learned with a new outlook everything will become beautiful in its own timing. With a little change in the way we see things it can bring about wonderful things.
