Becoming a Follower of Jesus Receive Transformation

Jesus speaks the same command to all He meets: Follow me! He means for us to give up all that we have put above and before Him. We must devote ourselves to living a way according to His teachings, and examples. As He taught His disciples, we have to see a better way to live – free from a hypocritical way of living and follow Him into a life of service and love. Jesus seeks to bring transformation into our lives. He wants us to live a life that says, “it is not about me it is about Him being at the center.” We must let Him be the leader of all that we do. Let Him guide us out into the world as a vessel of transformation in the lives of others.

Jesus gave us the keys, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely, I am with you always, to the very end of the age” (NIV).

We must recognize His authority in and over our lives. Allowing Him to be Lord over us. Trusting Him and submit to His discipline. We must go and be a witness to others by sharing the gospel. We all have our own understanding about this matter, but if we seek out His wisdom, insight and direction we can learn and grow. The disciples took action when the Holy Spirit came on the day of Pentecost. They stayed devoted to His teachings. Let’s get back to the basics and consider our commitment to Christ. It is not easy because this is discipline, but let it be an adventure of a lifetime.
