Empowered By the Holy Spirt to Be More Effective

Have you felt unimportant? Out of balance? Only the Spirit’s influence and touch can pierce the callouses surrounding the heart. His power is vital for us to successfully reach out to the world. The baptism of the Spirit provides just that. When the believers were empowered by the spirit on Pentecost, the miraculous led to an ingathering of souls. God’s purpose of reaching the lost with the gospel have not changed. If we take a look around, we can see demonstrations of God’s power. Those of us who believe should carry the good news to the people near and far. We have the assurance as believers, that He will be with us as He was with the disciples. We need to put our confidence in the Holy Spirit’s empowering of our walk.

As children of God, we know that we have a heavenly father standing behind us, so we can speak of His word. When we open our mouths, we will speak with delegated authority and assurance. The empowerment is living in us demonstrating in His timing, according to His purposes, and for His glory. Imagine you turned on your stove and nothing happens. You try everything to get the stove to come on. After trying every possible you can think of. You give up, you wait till your roommate come home and tell that the stove is going out today. The roommate asks why? You explained your day. The roommate laughed. and spoke, “There is nothing wrong with the stove I unplugged it before I left.

What good is a stove without power? What good is a child of God without empowerment by the Spirit? We must have that power, to be what He would have us to be. If we don’t trust in or utilize the powerful infilling of the Holy Spirit, looking, and acting the part will not get the job done correctly. The great commission, and the condition of the world demands that we pull out the key to faith, unlock the door and fire up the source of empowerment that reside within. Plug it up, it will bring the fire.
