When we get a revelation, it contains important information. Revelation is defined as the act of revealing for the purpose of making something known. To expose in full view what was formerly hidden. Let’s take a look at a scratch off ticket, underneath the silver lining there is something hidden behind the linen. It could be $100 even a million. You will not know the amount until it be revealed to you. In the case of the revealing in the bible, God is the one who unveils what’s hidden in His own timing. When a revelation come do you make it a reality? Revelation comes to open our eyes to see the true nature of our present reality. Revelation sets before us truth. We can be sure that if we receive a revelation, it will not fail. our perspective will be change by it. Don’t ignore it, just dive right into it. There is a blessedness promised in it, come experience the joy in it.
When we think about the beatitudes from the sermon on the mount, it is now obvious of the blessedness God promised us. Revelation is an open door for us to see something. We are better off when we are able to see the true nature of our present reality. This is the perspective we need. As human beings, we don’t fully understand our actions and motives. But in a revelation our being is exposed and if we see it, it will become a reality. We create our own reality, there are things we control, things we influence, and things that are not in our control. What is not under our control are the random events in our lives, the circumstances that we experience. The influence is how we come toward a person, either with a smile or a punch. You don’t determine the response of the other person; the person is the one that decides. What we control is where our reality starts.
What we perceive, interpret or think about the events in our lives is what generates our feelings about the events. These things bring our behavior and attitude into play. Just as we don’t determine other people’s response, no one can choose your thoughts or actions; these are ours alone. You choose which thoughts to think. When we think too long, they become beliefs. Beliefs become the lens which we interpret the event. Here is where the environment gets shifted. We only take in the environment that is consistent with our belief. When the mind is primed on a certain belief it shuts down anything coming in competing with it. Then we have a hard time seeing evidence to what is contrary of an already existing belief. We only see our own truth. We are the main character in our story, we write our own script based on our self-concept.
We sometimes act on assumptions, then we don’t present our best self, we act in ways that can result in ways that bring about what we are believing to be true creating our reality. With awareness comes choice. When you understand the process, then you are empowered to be in charge of your life. There will always be things that are out of our control, but we can control how to think, feel, and behave about the event. Once we have the revelation that life is a process than we can make it a reality how we see ourselves, other people, and the world.
